Chennai

Last Tuesday, we (myself, Manish and Arvind) went to Chennai to attend Vijai’s marriage. We took the evening air deccan flight to Chennai which was on time.
Vijai had booked a lodge for us in T Nagar and the venue where the ceremony was taking place was also nearby.

So, on Tuesday evening, we met Vijai. It was equally pleasant to meet his parents. There, we met a German guy (Chris) who was once Vijai’s colleague. We took him along and four of us went to a hotel to drinks some beer. At around midnight, we hired an auto-rickshaw to go to Marina Beach. As soon as we reached Marina beach, police came over and requested us not to visit the beach at that time as it was risky. We paid heed to the advice and headed home.

Next morning, Vijai’s marriage kept us occupied. It was the first south Indian marriage that I attended in my last seven years of stay in the South. The couple really looked happy and Vijai was trying to talk to us and wave at us and his other friends as and when possible.

Breakfast and Lunch were delicious though I had to use my hands for eating. At noon, we went back to the lodge and dozed off…

As the evening set in, we headed off to Besant Nagar beach. Besant Nagar is one of the upmarket areas of Chennai. After shooting some balloons and an half an hour walk on the beach while our Romeo (Arvind) was on phone with his fiancé, we went to some café bang opposite this beach.

Our flight back to Bangalore was at 21:30. As soon as we arrived at the airport, we came to know our flight was 3 hours late. It finally flew at 00:15 on 8th March. I also bumped into Jaggi (from Aditi Technologies).

What I liked about Chennai was its well constructed neat roads and pavements though people were driving rashly. I somehow can’t explain but I liked the city.

I will upload the pictures later…
