Bloodshed in India

Militants killed 22 people (hindus) in Doda district of Jammu & Kashmir early today morning. Taliban abducted and killed an Indian engineer, Mr. Suryanarayana, in Afghanistan in retaliation to which our government simply said for the umpteenth time, ‘we will not bow to terrorism’. Maoists and Naxalites are abducting and killing scores of people everyday in Orissa and Bihar…In midst of all this, some Indian ministers like Arjun Singh are busy heating up the cauldron of reservation again.

Last month, star icon Dr. Rajkumar died peacefully and hundreds of his followers plus some anti-social elements in Bangalore ran amok in the city and set hundreds of vehicles on fire, destroying crores of property. Business in the city came to a complete stop.

What the hell is happening?? When will this bloodshed and mayhem end? It is agonizing to switch to news channel these days!

  • This only makes the person sad, but there is an other side to this, such killings and accidents... have always been happening in some way or the other. Just that we have 24 hr news channel playing it for hours, to sensitize us! Imagine how many people die or get injured everyday in the roads, the death of people due to Tuberculosis, malaria... and how about 1000's of people dying due to hunger...

    And finally the crime aganist women and children

  • @jeyavel: Agreed that lot of people are also dying of the causes that you have mentioned though road accidents can be prevented and malaria, TB can be cured..

    More stringent laws can be and should be formulated for crime against women and children to prevent them..i would put these crimes in the same category as terrorism..

    But what do you do with terrorism? It has stopped bothering us..just imagine so many people getting killed in Bangalore every other day..i shudder to think of it..

    Moreover, Media is a necessary evil. I am sure because of media many govt. officers will not be accepting bribe with impunity.

    Moreover, if Media sensitizes us, is there something wrong in it? It is left to our better judgement...
